Mr Christodoulos Clerides was born in Nicosia on April the 24th, 1979. He studied Law at the Northumbria University of Newcastle upon Tyne, England (1999-2002) where he was awarded with LLB. His areas of practice are related to European Union, European Public Policy and Criminal Law and Torts. He further continued his postgraduate level studies and acquired an LLM in Corporate Governance (2004-2005) from University of Dundee, Scotland. He specializes in Corporate Governance Codes of various countries, Economic Structure of various countries and Sustainable Development.
He practiced as a trainee advocate (2002-2003) in Chrysafines & Polyviou Law Firm in Nicosia, having as main activities and responsibilities cases related to Banking Law and Criminal Law.
During 2003-2004, he worked as an Advocate in Skordis & Papapetrou Law Firm in Nicosia on Administrative Law and Criminal Law and Torts.
He joins Vassiliades & Co Law Firm since 2005 as the head of Litigation Department. He acts in a significant number of large commercial cases, frequently involving Russian or Ukrainian companies as well as Cypriot companies. He works in both litigation and arbitration, frequently involving a cross-border element. He acts for a substantial of the major Cypriot companies, in particular for some of the main Cypriot financial institutions.
